Mastering a second language is essential to function professionally in the society in which we live. English is currently the language of business, leisure, television and the Internet, and Spanish speakers need this language more and more as technology takes over our daily lives.

However, it is not always easy for children to speak English fluently because a second language requires daily practice to master it conversationally.

Childhood is the best time to learn a second language and experts consider that the ideal age to achieve a native accent should not exceed 16 years. During this stage, it is essential to acquire the basic vocabulary and the fundamental grammatical rules to develop them later, as well as the precise phonetic modulation, which is adapted to the second language.

According to experts, the most effective way to learn a language is to enter a realistic program, planned in advance, in order to internalize everything that surrounds us. Through the need to communicate and listen to others, children can develop the skills necessary to understand and speak English.

For this reason, long stays in England and the USA are a good option for children who want to learn English, but due to their high economic cost they are only affordable for a minority. Another way to get used to the ear and improve the level of English are the summer camps that, at certain intervals of time, from two to eight weeks, propose bilingual programs designed for children.

The purpose of summer camps is not to acquire bilingualism. With short stays abroad, the aim is to prepare the child, little by little, for the final trip. But is it worth sending children abroad for just one month? It is safe? Is our son ready? Will they really learn English?

These are just some of the questions parents ask themselves when sending their children to a summer camp abroad for the purpose of learning and having fun at the same time. Due to the wide offer that currently exists, it is possible to choose among those that best suit your needs and your child's preferences. The constant presence of native teachers and students from different countries invites you to speak in the second language more directly than if you are accompanied by friends or colleagues from the same city or country.

On the other hand, before sending your child to a camp, it is necessary to talk with him, know his wishes, his tastes, and find the option that best suits his way of being. Thus, while some children may prefer to be in small groups, which are more welcoming, others will prefer large groups that allow them to meet more people. Along these lines, it is also possible that while some like routine and manual activities more, others prefer new adventures every day with athletic and sports activities.

However, it will always be an enriching experience that will help them learn to interact with strangers and overcome difficulties that arise without having the protection and supervision of their parents.
